Open Rehearsal - March 2025

Poole Symphonic are inviting players to join us for a one-day-only Open Rehearsal on Saturday 29th March 2025. All abilities are welcome from strings, brass, woodwind and percussion (although please be aware some sections are already closed to unexpected demand for this event).

Venue: Poole Grammar School, Gravel Hill, Poole BH17 9JU
Time - 10am - 4.30pm (registration opens 9.30am).
Fee - £20 to include refreshments (lunch not provided)

The day will end with an informal concert, FREE to audience members, to showcase the pieces worked on throughout the day.

Poole Symphonic are recruiting!

PS are looking for new players to join our ranks! We recommend a playing standard of Grade 5 and above with sight reading ability a strong desirable criteria. We rehearse every Wednesday evening 7 - 9.30pm at the JOhn Short Theatre at Poole High School, Wimborne Road, Poole. We are particularly interested in players for French horn, Tuba, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Violins, Violas, Cellos, String Bass, Trumpets and Bassoons so if you're interested please email janineyoung@sky.com or pdfudge@live.co.uk.

**Please note that not all instruments will be suitable for the arrangements we play therefore we reserve the right to politely decline any applications on this basis**.

Does the idea of listening and singing along to music from the Proms, Musicals and the movie scene sound like a good night out for you? Then Poole Symphonic would love you to come along to our Summer concert on the evening of Saturday 12th July 2025 at the Theatre, Poole Lighthouse.

Firstly, thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will find it both interesting and useful.

The Poole Symphonic Concert Band is primarily a wind band but with additional instrumentation including violins, string and Electric Bass. We rehearse and perform a considerable variation of styles of music, ranging from Jazz and Swing, Symphonic Classics such as Finlandia, Royal Fireworks Suite and the 1812 Overture through to Michael Jackson Medleys.
